About

Welcome to the Tortured Fan website, a site dedicated to the highs and lows that come by being a Utah Jazz fan.

I’ve always been a Jazz fan, and that isn’t a hyperbole. I was born on a November evening in 1989 and according to my mom, the doctor and my dad watched a Jazz game that evening (it apparently resulted in a Jazz win) and that’s when my fandom began. I went from Jazz burp cloths to Jazz Halloween costumes to Jazz hats. Throughout all the years of my life, I’ve always love watching, talking about, and writing about my Team.

I’ve always had an interest in writing as I participated on my school’s newspaper in   high school and graduated college with an English degree in 2014. I’m married to another English nerd and we have a little boy and a little puppy. I love forcing all of them to watch the Utah Jazz with me.

The purpose in this website is to connect the Jazz community with meaningful conversation and positive interactions. I will post two to three times a week, which can be emailed straight to your inbox if you sign up below. Postings will provide thoughtful narratives, game or weekly previews/reviews, and (what I hope to be) clever anecdotes of NBA knowledge.
